The Moomins were created by Tove Jansson in 1948. She wrote many novels and comics, which were later adapted into TV shows many times. The first adaptation was made in 1959, using marionettes. The most popular adaptation was the 1990's cartoon, which is my favorite. There is also a newer adaptation, called Moominvalley.

. Moomintroll, or Moomin, is a loveable and curious little guy who loves going on adventures with his family and friends! Moomin is sweet and kind, and tends to be emotional as well. He has many friends in Moominvalley, but his best friend is Snufkin who he adores. When Snufkin goes away for the winter, Moomin is often seen pining for his friend to return. Moomin loves adventure, and particularly has a love for the ocean.
